While the mission of the museum
is to bring history to the people at public events, it can offer a great deal
more to the public if it also has a fixed location such as the 1942 barracks
behind Stuart's Memorial Park to consider home. Thereby making the collection
available to people, schools, groups and organizations alike on a regular
basis. There are other benefits and practicalities to having a 'home base' for
the museum as well. The facility can also act as a resource and activity center
for other Veterans and service groups in Martin County; it can serve as a
meeting hall for the Veterans Council of Martin County and it also offers
another cultural and historical attraction to the City of Stuart and
surrounding areas.
